Ryan Gosling's adorable tribute to Eva Mendes at Barbie premiere has fans in meltdown
During the Barbie world premiere in Los Angeles on July 9, Ryan Gosling completed his perfect Ken look with a pink suit and an adorable nod to his wife and fellow actress Eva Mendes.
With the upcoming release of Barbie, leading stars Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie are busy touring around the world to put a fantastic word out for Greta Gerwig’s live-action movie. During a red carpet appearance last weekend, Ryan included a subtle tribute to his wife Eva Mendes, who wasn’t present at the media event.
Ryan Gosling’s subtle nod to Eva Mendes at Barbie premiere
Ryan paid an adorable tribute to wife Eva Mendes at the world premiere of Barbie in Los Angeles on Sunday (July 9, 2023) and fans on social media have officially lost it.
During the media appearance, Ryan wore a gold necklace with a large pink E letter, which many fans presumed was meant for his wife and mother of two children, Eva. The Ken actor confirmed the speculations on the red carpet and Twitter was filled with reactions from excited fans about the sweet nod.
“How cute wearing a necklace with an E for Eva. He really is making sure his wife feels secure,” one fan’s comment read. “That’s so cute, I want a man to wear a Barbie necklace with my initial,” another Twitter user chimed in.
Someone else added: “Ryan Gosling wearing a necklace with the letter E in Barbie font for Eva is so wholesome.”

Ryan isn’t the only one who makes sure to show his affection for his partner as Eva is more than vocal and a proud partner of Ryan’s new role as Ken in Barbie.
Last week, the Hitch actress shared a snippet from the live-action movie which fully encapsulated Ryan’s acting skills and brilliance as a comedy actor. Now Ryan is not a typical comedy star hence his history of drama roles but he might want to add more comedy roles to his acting portfolio after Barbie.
In June last year, Eva posted a first-look image of Ryan as Ken on Instagram and her caption was full of praise. “So. F. Funny. So. F. Good. So F excited for you to see this,” she wrote at the time. Eva finished her tribute with the firm hashtag “That’s my Ken”.
Ryan and Eva’s relationship
Ryan and Eva were first rumored to be together in 2011 after they enjoyed a fun day out at Disneyland. They starred together in the 2012 film The Place Beyond the Pines and made their debut as a couple at the premiere of the movie.
The Hollywood stars welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Esmeralda Amada, in September 2014. They were rumored to have briefly separated but the speculations were never confirmed as Ryan and Eva have kept their relationship out of the public eye.
Eva starred in the 2015 film Lost River, which marked Ryan’s directorial debut. They welcomed their second child together, named Amada Lee, in 2016.
