Jay Melody is a Tanzanian musician and songwriter renowned for the hit single Nakupenda. However, that was not his first release. His first song was Geroka, released in 2018.
Jay, whose real name is Sharif Said Juma, was born on June 12, 1997, in Mwananyamala, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He is the last born of Mr. and Mrs. Said Juma.
The renowned musician from Tanzania attended school at Muhalitani Primary School in Tandale, the Slam area in Dar es Salaam, between 2005 and 2011. He went to high school at Bunju A between 2012 and 2015.
Jay Melody got interested in music at a tender age and enrolled as a student at Tanzania House of Talent.
