Michigan 14-year-old is 'shot and killed by a handgun his cousin, 20, had hidden under a mattress'
A 14-year-old was shot and killed by a handgun that his cousin had stashed under the mattress, police say.
Yaharre Stennis was shot in the chest on Monday at around 2.40am in Pontiac, Michigan. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Damari E Mahone, 20, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the teen's death, according to Oakland County police.

ShareInvestigators say Mahone stored the gun under the mattress and was telling the 14-year-old to move from the bed when it accidentally fired.
Mahone and other witnesses brought the boy to the hospital, where the suspect was arrested.
At the home where the shooting occurred police found a .357-caliber handgun, a .22-caliber rifle, 9.9 grams of heroin and a small amount of marijuana.
Mahone has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, punishable by up to 15 years in prison, as well as possession of heroin, a 20-year felony, and two counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
He was arraigned on Thursday and denied bond.
Mahone has no prior criminal history, according to the sheriff's office.
